A.P.C Petit New Standards

I used to favored quantity over quality when it's comes to shopping. I thought why buy one jeans for $200 when I could get 3 jeans for the same price? But I've realized that it's actually more expensive to buy cheap trendy clothing and accessories, they won't last long and need to be replace regularly, and they end up need more money in a long run. So I've set myself a simple goal for my shopping habits by choosing to only buy quality, classic clothing pieces. Investing in a good pair of jeans is a good start. Got these A.P.C Petit New Standard raw selvedge jeans a while ago, while they're very rigid at first, they will break in with wear and create unique fading and detailing. I suggest you to buy one size smaller, as it will stretch up in time.

Flying with Jetstar

Thursday, January 14, 2016

If you've been following me on Instagram, you must already know that me and my friend spent our end of year holidays in Singapore. Thanks to Jetstar Asia for making our journey so pleasant and comfortable. Check in was very quick and convenient with Jetstar self-check in kiosks at Singapore Changi Airport. Jetstar's self-check in kiosk allows passengers (departing from Changi Airport) to print their boarding pass as well as baggage tag after checking in. Simply scan your passport, add bags to booking, print your boarding pass and baggage tag, and off you go! No more queues at the check in counter so that you'll have more time to chill at the duty free outlet at the airport!

The flight was up to standard protocols. Always on time departure and arrival. I also must say that the take-off and landing was quiet smooth compared to some flights I had taken. The seat was comfortable. Leather seats with a decent enough recline. They gave us the emergency row seat for extra leg room which makes all the difference for me since I’m pretty tall. It leaves a plenty of room for me to stretch and lean back during the flight. You also can choose your own seat when you book or during web check-in (fees may apply). Exit rows, aisle or window seats, and seats close to the front of the plane are typically considered the best.

The cabin crew on this flight were attentive and friendly! They always greet us by our names with big smiles on their faces and made us feel valued and respected. It’s little things like that that I remember and it’s the attention to detail that makes Jetstar different. We received inflight meals for our return flight. I ordered Teriyaki Chicken with rice while my friend decided to choose Teriyaki Chicken Sandwich. The meal set comes with your choice of one hot meal, a kit kat, mineral water and one hot drink. The serving is quite big and taste good.

Overall we had a flawless flight experience with Jetstar Asia and we have nothing to complain about! Can't hardly wait for the next adventure!

Grand Hyatt Singapore - An Oasis in the City

Wednesday, January 06, 2016

I adore Singapore, it's so modern but still has all these different cultural flavours around the city, and it's only about one and a half hour flight from Jakarta. That's why Singapore is my top travel destination for a short weekend getaway. There are a diversity of accommodation options around Singapore but if you are looking for an international brand, you can't go wrong with the Grand Hyatt Singapore.

Situated right smack in the middle of Singapore's most well-known shopping belt, the location alone is a plus point when it comes to this property. Orchard MRT station is the next door along with shopping malls such as ION Orchard and Tangs Orchard, so all your needs from clothing, money changers, to dining can be attained at an overwhelming conveniece.

I stayed in a Club Deluxe King room. The 42sqm room have warm and cozy hues. There was a seperated living room area that had a couch, chair, desk, 42 inch flatscreen tv that contains a variety of cable and local channels, Blu-Ray player and big window overlooking the city, which makes it a perfect place to chill or gather with your loved ones. The bedroom had a plush soft goose down king sized bed, another flat screen tv and lounge chair. A bedside table is located on both sides of the bed along with the reading light and complimentary drinking water is provided (and replenished at turndown).

It led to a walk in closet and spacious marble bathroom with plush robes and deluxe amenities provided by the luxurious June Jacobs Spa collection. I really like the light and refreshing scent that the Green Tea and Cucumber series has. Since I stayed during the Christmas season, the staff at Grand Hyatt Singapore threw in some cute chocolate and candies to sweeten my stay. Oh it’s so lovely! There is also a large workstation for you to get work done over some fast internet connection. As bloggers we are always working so it was great to be able to access and download without a single hassle.
Guests staying in Grand Club Rooms can enjoy a host of additional benefits and privileges including access to their Grand Club Lounge, which serves complimentary continental breakfast, evening cocktails and all day beverages. The Grand Club feels exclusive enough to make you feel special as a club level or suite guest but yet the level of hospitality transcends through the exclusive nature of the place.

The Grand Hyatt Singapore has plenty of facilities and amenities to keep guests entertained – much more than I had imagined. They have a gym, pool, tennis courts, spa, in-house restaurants, lounge, business centre. You name it.

I love the zen vibes of this hotel. Lots of green plants along the walkways and the dramatic waterfall you'll pass by to get to the restaurants or the pool is something you’ll never forget. The large outdoor pool area is also quite the impressive sight. Surrounded by plenty of sun chairs and private cabanas.

My overall stay was wonderful. I cannot fault anything about this hotel. The service was fantastic, and everything was convenient and efficient. Just the right balance of business and elegance. The Grand Hyatt Singapore is a true oasis in the city. I can’t hardly wait to come back!

Arnold Teja was a guest of Grand Hyatt Singapore, all views and opinions are my own. A big thank you to Grand Hyatt Singapore for the hospitality!
